Optimax® Career Orientation: Clarifying Your Path With Confidence

Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I now offer Career Orientation, a structured and deeply personal process designed to help you understand who you are and where you thrive in your work life. This service is ideal for teens, young adults choosing post-secondary pathways, and adults navigating career transitions, burnout, or a desire for more meaningful work.

Career Orientation uses the Optimax® character assessment to identify your natural strengths, interests, stress patterns, and motivational style. Instead of forcing you into a predefined job category, it helps you understand the kind of environment, role, and workstyle that best aligns with your personality, so your career can feel energizing rather than depleting.

My approach

I incorporate a warm, trauma-informed, and empathetic approach, blending evidence-based psychodynamic techniques with insights from somatic, polyvagal and attachment theories, including Adult Attachment Interview (AAI). Who is this for?

If you’re seeking a compassionate space to navigate life’s challenges, whether related to identity, relationships, trauma, or transitions psychodynamic therapy can provide profound insight and pathways toward self-awareness. It’s especially effective for those dealing with issues rooted in childhood experiences, attachment concerns, or longstanding emotional patterns.

For many clients, questions about work, purpose, or direction are deeply connected to these inner themes. When helpful, I also integrate Career Orientation into the therapeutic process to support clients in translating self-understanding into aligned life and career choices.

Exploration of the Inner Self: Together, we’ll delve into your personal history, relationships, and inner narratives to identify underlying themes and patterns, while also clarifying your core values, strengths, and motivations as they relate to life and work.

Insight and Awareness: Developing insight into unconscious influences that shape your experiences, including how early attachment and relational patterns may impact confidence, decision-making, or career satisfaction.

Emotional Processing: A safe, attuned space to process difficult emotions, trauma, past wounds, and life transitions—such as career change, burnout, or identity shifts.

Growth and Resilience: Cultivating healthier ways of relating to yourself and others, strengthening resilience, and—when relevant—supporting more grounded, authentic choices in both personal life and career direction.
